Shopping for love on Tinder? Lesbians must 1st swipe past a parade of direct men

I’ve come unmarried since my personal last relationship ended in March, and like many single lesbians, that implies I’m back on Tinder. The online dating app produces an effective way to increase my personal internet dating share beyond the usual harvest of friends, exes and pals of exes. But I’d forgotten just what it’s like to be a lesbian on America’s top matchmaking software; to find times, I have to go through a veritable thicket of opposite-sex couples and cisgender men.

But exactly why do guys pop-up inside my feed of possible suits when my personal levels is placed to see women-identified users merely? Anecdotally, I’m sure I’m rarely alone — queer female and non-binary folks have spent age puzzling across males that somehow slide through all of our Tinder options. Yes, there are other dating apps, but Tinder may be the one I’ve used the the majority of, and just one in which I’ve had this take place regularly.
